The Annual Nissan Jam is a free event for spectators that is held in Anaheim, CA that drew a really impressive lineup of Japanese automotive history for it’s 4th incarnation. Continue reading
Today I had the opportunity to make it out to Cars & Coffee in Irvine from 6 AM until 9 (more on that in a later post) and had gone home for a short nap before heading over to Fullerton for Extreme Dimension’s 8th Charity Car Show that is free to participate in and hosts a raffle with various pieces of Extreme Dimensions bodywork to be had for prizes. I was far too busy to wait and listen to raffle numbers being read off however, I had TONS of cars to pick through and shoot!
I was immediately greeted by this threateningly squatted blob-eye WRX that looked like it was ready for some serious track abuse. Continue reading
There’s not too much I can add word-wise that I didn’t talk about in my first post, but part 2 will be covering the main part of the show hosted on the grassy section where the bulk of the cars were located. No doubt you’ve seen a few shots of this insanely cambered Q45 (Y33 Cima) on rarely seen 3-spoke Work Equips from Low ‘N Slow, it had a primo spot and had the craziest wheel setup at the show. It’s not surprising this look has caught on so quickly; it’s dangerous, difficult to properly achieve, and it came from Japan!
Wefest Long Beach is easily the biggest, most crowded, and most popular car show that I regularly attend every year. The line to get in is massive, the traffic trying to park borders on Costco-parking-lot levels of congestion, and the sun never fails to chase every cloud away to scorch down on everyone and punish the un-sunscreened. Why bother to wade through all this you might ask? Wekfest Long Beach is simply the best car show of its type in Southern California hands down in terms of quality and quantity of vehicles in attendance. Continue reading
When my alarm went off at 5:45 AM this morning my instinct was to hit snooze and skip my regular pre-work shower. Thankfully I realized my alarm was not set for work but for the weekly Cars & Coffee meet held in Irvine, so I jumped out of bed with my new found motivation, downed a bowl of cereal, grabbed the stale remainder of yesterday’s thermos of french roast, and hopped on the freeway for my overdue dose of the early morning automotive mosaic that is Cars & Coffee. Honestly, there are few things that can happen mid-week that will get me to pull the cover off the Fit and purposefully head into the heart of darkness itself, but Moog & Marty of MCM have given me countless hours of turbo-charged, laughter-filled entertainment and I felt it was the least I could do to head out and support one of the best Youtbue channels I’ve come across. This year’s 2014 Formula Drift Long Beach event also hosted the Offset Kings Long Beach Showcase hosted by Fatlace. It served to give an insight to what we will be seeing as show season begins to rev up and people bring their creations out from their winter’s evolution. Continue reading
This year I finally planned ahead and made sure to take the Friday of the 2014 Formula Drift season opener on the streets of Long Beach. Continue reading
