Last week I attended the OC Fairgrounds version of Cars & Coffee and honestly, I was pretty disappointed by the turnout having gotten used to the insanity that the Irvine meet turned into. It’s been months since I attended the my last Cars & Coffee meetup, turns out a semester’s worth of design classes doesn’t afford waking up at 5AM every Saturday morning! I finally have some respite this winter break, so what better way to start off the new year than with the car meet that I began everything with? Little did I know, this was to be my last Cars & Coffee I would attend in Irvine. I won’t get into the details of why the weekly meet was cancelled indefinitely, but long-story-short the meet was suddenly and unequivocally banned. Well, I finally made my big move to Costa Mesa recently and I decided to celebrate by attending the always amazing weekly Cars & Coffee event held in Irvine, CA since I couldn’t make the drive up to San Jose this weekend to join everyone at Wekfest. As usual, there was plenty to feast my hungry camera’s lens on!
When my alarm went off at 5:45 AM this morning my instinct was to hit snooze and skip my regular pre-work shower. Thankfully I realized my alarm was not set for work but for the weekly Cars & Coffee meet held in Irvine, so I jumped out of bed with my new found motivation, downed a bowl of cereal, grabbed the stale remainder of yesterday’s thermos of french roast, and hopped on the freeway for my overdue dose of the early morning automotive mosaic that is Cars & Coffee.
