Last week I attended the OC Fairgrounds version of Cars & Coffee and honestly, I was pretty disappointed by the turnout having gotten used to the insanity that the Irvine meet turned into. Luckily the Aliso Viejo version of the meet seems to be where the majority of the attendance has shifted to so I had plenty to drool over and snap shots of! Continue reading
It’s been months since I attended the my last Cars & Coffee meetup, turns out a semester’s worth of design classes doesn’t afford waking up at 5AM every Saturday morning! I finally have some respite this winter break, so what better way to start off the new year than with the car meet that I began everything with? Little did I know, this was to be my last Cars & Coffee I would attend in Irvine. I won’t get into the details of why the weekly meet was cancelled indefinitely, but long-story-short the meet was suddenly and unequivocally banned. Before hitting up the Extreme Dimensions show this past Saturday, I also woke up at the crack of 5 to brave the crowds and check out Toyota’s new FT-1, designed by California-based Calty design studio (who recently worked on the FT-HS, and Lexus LF-LC). “FT” to stand for “Future Toyota” and “1” to represent “the ultimate”.
When my alarm went off at 5:45 AM this morning my instinct was to hit snooze and skip my regular pre-work shower. Thankfully I realized my alarm was not set for work but for the weekly Cars & Coffee meet held in Irvine, so I jumped out of bed with my new found motivation, downed a bowl of cereal, grabbed the stale remainder of yesterday’s thermos of french roast, and hopped on the freeway for my overdue dose of the early morning automotive mosaic that is Cars & Coffee.
